The FedEx Sport Zone is staffed by volunteers from the benefiting United Way charity and 100% of the money raised goes directly to the local chapter of the charity. FedEx raised $3,450 during the 2001 Cleveland National Air Show and $3,772 during the 2002 event with their "Sports Zone" featuring sports related activities that earned participants prizes and chances at numerous sports memorabilia such as autographed jerseys. Money raised was shared by FedEx supported charities including the March of Dimes, Diabetes of Greater Cleveland and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of NE Ohio. FedEx, local police departments and Smythe Cramer Realtors are teaming up to keep Cleveland's kids safe. Bring your child to the FedEx Sports Zone and receive a child safety identification packet. Police volunteers will be on hand to discuss important safety tips and fingerprint children.

Children have a short attention spans and local charities need funds. These two facts led FedEx to develop the crowd pleasing air show attraction called the Sports Zone. The Sports Zone is located adjacent to the FedEx static display aircraft and is comprised of a basketball free throw area, football skill area, golf putting green and much more. For a $1 donation Air Show fans can participate in one of these activities and be eligible for the prizes that are awarded at various achievement levels.
