2003 Centennial of Powered Flight Gala

The 2003 Air Show Weekend kicked off with a black-tie Gala on Friday evening, Aug. 29,2003 at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Cleveland. Honorary co-chairs were Senator John Glenn and Mayor Jane Campbell. This special tribute to Cleveland's role in aviation's first century included a specially produced presentation of Cleveland's aviation's moments and a rare first-hand account of the Apollo 13 adventure by astronaut Jim Lovell and NASA mission control commander Gene Kranz.
