Come back Sunday or Monday to the Air Show

(SATURDAY, SEPT. 4) - While the Cleveland National Air Show presented by Discount Drug Mart went on Saturday despite the rain, Saturday ticketholders are invited back Sunday or Monday.

  • All ticketholders can use their tickets or ticket stubs for GENERAL ADMISSION Sunday or Monday.
  • Once inside the gate and subject to availability , a Saturday Box Seat or Saturday Barnstormer Club ticket/wristband may be exchanged for a BOX SEAT ticket for that day's show. (Box Seats will be in a different location.)
  • Saturday Loge ticketholders can use their tickets for GENERAL ADMISSION Sunday or Monday.
With the forecast calling for improved conditions Sunday and Monday, we expect to host two full days of aerial and ground events.

 

For many families, the sight of high-speed aircraft jetting in tight formation against a bright blue sky is as exciting as fireworks on the 4th of July...

U.S. Navy Blue Angels jet demonstration Team

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are ready to ROCK Cleveland!

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will add their own speed to Labor Day Weekend as headliners of the 2010 Cleveland National Air Show presented by Discount Drug Mart.

Each show day the six "Blues" demonstration pilots will blaze across the Cleveland skies in their dark blue and yellow-striped F/A-18 Hornets. The Blue Angels flight demonstration exhibits choreographed refinements of skills possessed by all naval aviators. It includes the graceful aerobatic maneuvers of the four-plane Diamond Formation, in concert with the fast-paced, high-performance maneuvers of its two Solo Pilots. Finally, the team illustrates the pinnacle of precision flying, performing maneuvers locked as a unit in the renowned, six-jet Delta Formation.

C-130 Hercules "fat Albert" demonstration

Welcome Aboard Fat Albert Airlines

The U. Navy Blue Angels support aircraft "Fat Albert" will perform a gravity defying demonstration that will leave air show fans in awe. Fat Albert cruises at a speed of more than 320 knots (approximately 360 miles per hour) at 27,000 feet. Four Allison turboprop engines, which produce more than 16,000 shaft-horsepower, provide Fat Albert Airlines with the power to land and depart on runways as short as 2,500 feet.

An all-Marine Corps crew of three officers and five enlisted personnel operate the Lockheed-Martin C-130T Hercules, affectionately known as Fat Albert Airlines. Fat Albert joined the team in 1970 and flies more than 140,000 miles each season. It carries more than 40 maintenance and support personnel, their gear and enough spare parts and communication equipment to complete a successful air show. U.S. Army Golden Knights Precision Parachute Team

Ambassadors of Excellence

The Golden Knights are an elite parachute team that serve as goodwill ambassadors for the U.S. Army. Annually the team performs more than 27,000 jumps before an estimated 14 million people.

The Golden Knights will perform multiple free-fall parachute jumps revealing aerial grace, precision and skill as they descend along the flight line or to a perfect bulls-eye landing. Don't miss this popular performance!

U.S. Navy F/A-18F Super hornet

Tactical Demonstration

The U.S. Navy's F/A-18F Super Hornet is an all-weather strike fighter aircraft that performs fighter escort, fleet air defense, force projection, interdiction, and close air support. An upgrade of the F/A-18C/D Hornet, the Super Hornet is 25 percent larger and offers longer range, greater endurance, increased weapon and fuel carrying ability along with improved survivability and the capacity for future growth.Official U.S. Navy photograph.

U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle Tactical Demonstration

Afterburners On!

Each event day, the F-15E Strike Eagle will perform a dynamic and impressive demonstration that will leave air show fans rumbling in their seats. The F-15E Strike Eagle is a dual-role fighter designed to perform air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. An array of avionics and electronics systems gives the F-15E the capability to fight at low altitude, day or night, and in all weather. The aircraft uses two crew members, a pilot and a weapon systems officer.

Gene Soucy

Big Biplane Solo

Gene Soucy is one of the most well-respected and proficient airshow pilots in American aviation.  He is a former member of the record-setting Eagles Aerobatic Flight Team, he has been a member of two World Champion U.S. Aerobatic Teams, and he has won more awards than any other active airshow pilot.  Innovation and versatility are Gene's style.  It is no wonder as to why he has rightfully been nicknamed "Mr. Airshow."

Each show day, Gene will tear up the sky in the ShowCat with his combination of smoke, noise, and elegance. Air Show fans young and old will go wild for the roar of the monstrous Pratt & Whitney engine, and Gene's trademark one-wheel landing proves the show isn't over until the big kitty purrs. Teresa Stokes Wingwalking

Wild Ride on the Wing!

This crowd favorite features wingwalker Teresa Stokes as she climbs about the wings of the ShowCat, piloted by aviation legend Gene Soucy. Anything is possible with these two in the air...if you're lucky, you'll even catch a glimpse of a headstand in the sky!

As America's favorite wingwalker, this one-of-a-kind performer is also an acclaimed aviation artist. Award winning Teresa Stokes Aviation Art specializes in custom commissioned fine art paintings of aircraft, skyscapes, and space flight.  Limited Edition prints of her work are marketed in galleries through out the country, and displayed in museums worldwide. In the past she has done works of art for several major rock bands such as the band caricature artwork on the inside of the Aerosmith's "Rocks" album and CD.

Cleveland's favorite dragster is back...Shockwave Jet Truck! Shockwave runs over 300 mph racing airplanes at airshows; holds the world record in a quarter mile for trucks at 256 mph in just 6.36 seconds; and holds the world record for full size trucks at 376 mph as recorded by Guinness Book of World Records. At 36,000 horsepower, the ShockWave has enough power to accelerate at 3 Gs vertical, which is as much as the Space Shuttle!

TS-11 Iskra Flyby

 

The TS-11 Iskra (Polish for Spark) is a Polish jet trainer aircraft, used by the air forces of Poland and India. It is notable as the main trainer plane of the Polish Army, the oldest jet plane still in service in Poland - and one of the most reliable.

Metro Life Flight

Launched in 1982, Cleveland Metro Life Flight is an internationally recognized critical care transport service based in Northeast Ohio. Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) since 1994, Metro Life Flight provides both local and international assistance utilizing helicopter, Lear jet and ground unit assets.

Metro Life Flight's four person team is comprised of two pilots and two critical care specialists including nurses and physicians. Each member of the team brings industry state-of-the art experience complemented by the high standard of training required within the Metro Life Flight family.
